Student composers create and notate a piece with their supervising TVOMTA teacher. Open to students of all ages, levels, styles, and instrumentation, each piece is critiqued by an area composer with useful feedback to improve the composition. When the Composition Festival is over, all participants will have their composition published in a spiral bound book with all other entries. One TVOMTA Composition Book is included per registration fee. Additional copies of the book are available for pre-order via the entry form and are $7 each. A few Honored Composers from each division are chosen to submit a YouTube recording of their piece for the State Composition Virtual Recital.
Chair: Lorraine Alner: trophychair@oregonmta.org
The trophy is an award for participation in all district or state OMTA/MTNA events. All OMTA/MTNA-sponsored events qualify for one trophy point.
